Pulisic shines, Maignan saves: Milan defeat Napoli and join Roma at the top of Serie A

    Milan’s lightning start

The Serie A Matchday 5 clash began with immediate drama: in the 3rd minute, Pulisic burst down the wing and delivered a cross for Saelemaekers, who scored from close range. Napoli tried to react but found Maignan in top form, denying Gutierrez and McTominay.

    Pulisic doubles the lead

De Bruyne’s penalty and Estupiñán red card

In the second half, Napoli pushed harder. On the hour mark, Estupiñán fouled Di Lorenzo, the VAR confirmed: red card and penalty. De Bruyne converted to give Napoli hope. Despite being one man down, Milan held on thanks to Maignan’s saves, especially on McTominay’s header.

    Standings and outlook

With this victory, Milan join Roma and Napoli at the top of the table with 12 points. Juventus follow with 11 points, and Inter with 9 points.
