Who are Taverna Umberto I
Hailing from Sicily, Taverna Umberto I are Giuseppe and Gianfilippo Santangelo, two brothers united by their passion for music. Their name pays homage to a historic tavern in Piazza Armerina, a symbol of simplicity, authenticity, and heartfelt emotions.
In 2008, they released their first album, “Parole dal Sud”, featuring original songs inspired by personal stories. Since then, they have performed across Italy, collaborated with prominent musicians, and received major awards, such as the recognition at the Via Emilia – La Strada dei Cantautori. Among their most notable projects is a collaboration with the Sicilian Lyric Choir and the Calabrian Philharmonic Orchestra, blending pop and lyrical music in a tribute to Franco Battiato and Lucio Dalla.
With two albums of original music, numerous concerts, and a wealth of experiences, the Santangelo brothers continue their musical journey with one certainty: in music, as in life, there is no stopping.
