Pride and surprise: Monza wins it at the death with Keita’s goal
A win that doesn’t save them but speaks volumes
Already relegated, Monza put on a display of sheer determination and pride, pulling off a stunning 2-1 away win over Udinese at the Dacia Arena. A bitter blow for the home side, who are still battling to avoid the drop.
Udinese dominates, but can’t finish
Runjaic’s side controlled the game early on. Solet tested Pizzignacco with a dangerous low shot, but the Monza keeper stood tall. The visitors had little to offer until Castrovilli missed the target just before halftime.
Caprari and Keita flip the script
The second half turned the match on its head: Birindelli hit the post and Caprari was first to the rebound, scoring in the 52nd minute. Lucca equalized with a powerful strike in the 75th, but just when Udinese thought the comeback was on, Keita Baldé punished a defensive lapse in the 90th minute.
A lesson in pride
Despite being relegated, Monza showed the true meaning of sportsmanship and professionalism. For Udinese, this is a wake-up call: nothing is guaranteed yet in the battle for survival.
