The State Police has reinforced security measures in the Brignole Gardens area of Genoa to ensure safety and prevent illegal activities. During an evening patrol, officers from the San Fruttuoso Police Station stopped two young Egyptian men for alleged drug dealing and non-compliance with restrictive measures.
The operation in Mario Baistrocchi Square
The incident took place in Mario Baistrocchi Square, where officers observed a 17-year-old throwing a package into a bush upon noticing the patrol. The retrieved package contained approximately 22 grams of hashish. Upon searching the minor, officers discovered an additional 11 grams of the same substance hidden in his undergarments.
Alongside the minor, a 20-year-old was identified and found to be in breach of a residency ban in Genoa, a measure previously imposed by the judicial authorities.
Presumption of innocence
Both individuals were reported: the minor for drug trafficking and the 20-year-old for failing to comply with the residency restriction. As required by law, the presumption of innocence applies until any final conviction is reached.
