A powerful message against gender violence

On November 23 and 24, Isernia hosted Viva Vittoria, turning the city center into a vibrant collective artwork. Streets and squares were filled with patchwork blankets, hand-made by men and women of all ages, delivering a strong message: no to gender violence.

Blankets as a symbol of solidarity

Over 3,600 blankets, each made of four colorful squares, created a unique installation. Among the contributors was the ANPS of Nettuno, which brought blankets made by its members. “Each blanket is a symbolic embrace for all women who have suffered violence,” said Francesco Elviretti, the association’s president.

Viva Vittoria offers tangible support

The project is not just art but also a fundraising initiative for the Centro Antiviolenza Aps Liberaluna ETS. The proceeds will provide victims of violence with training, job grants, and concrete support to start anew. “Each blanket is part of a larger puzzle, a symbol of hope and rebirth,” explained Pasqualino De Mattia, project representative.

Isernia, a community of hope and action

This initiative shows how art and solidarity can unite to fight a severe social issue. Walking among the colorful blankets, one feels an atmosphere of hope and optimism, sending a clear message: violence can be fought and defeated together.
