A step toward safer nightlife in Naples
Naples’ nightlife evolves with an innovative proposal from the Youth Forum: a night shuttle service connecting the historic center to Coroglio, an area renowned for its clubs. The goal? Ensure safe transportation and reduce risks related to drunk driving.
A project addressing alarming road safety data
According to the Istat 2023 report, Naples recorded over 2,300 road accidents, with a social cost exceeding €210 million. Young people under 35 are particularly affected, highlighting the urgent need for safer transport solutions.
How the shuttle service works
The service will operate every Friday and Saturday with two main routes:
- Historic center – Coroglio: 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM
- Coroglio – Historic center: 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM
Affordable fares:
- €1.30 for regular passengers
- €1.00 for young people under 30
Pilot stops include strategic areas such as Piazza Carlo III, Riviera di Chiaia, and Bagnoli, making the city’s nightlife more accessible.
Goals and potential developments
The one-year pilot project aims to:
- Reduce nighttime road accidents
- Promote inclusive mobility
- Enhance participation in Naples’ cultural and social life
If successful, the service could expand with the involvement of ANM and private partners.
A call for the future of youth mobility
The Youth Forum calls on local authorities to support this initiative, marking an important step toward a safer, youth-friendly Naples.
