From microbiome to AI and vaccines: over 2,000 pediatricians gather to shape the future of child health
From May 28 to 31, 2025, Naples will host over 2,000 pediatricians from across Italy at the 80th National Congress of the Italian Society of Pediatrics (SIP). The Mostra d’Oltremare will become a hub of scientific dialogue, clinical updates, and cultural celebration.
The opening ceremony, on May 28, will feature keynotes from Alessio Fasano (on the intestinal microbiome), Andrea Ballabio (biomedical research), and writer Maurizio de Giovanni, who will pay tribute to Naples through literature.
Topics include personalized medicine, mental health, AI in pediatrics, climate change, vaccines, and social inequalities. SIP President Rino Agostiniani warns: “Health begins in early childhood. If we neglect it, Italy may not have a future.”
