First half: Inter starts strong, but Milan strikes first
Inter began the match with great intensity, determined to overturn the 1-1 result from the first leg. The early chances were all for the Nerazzurri: Darmian fired wide and Dimarco forced a sharp save from Maignan. In the 23rd minute, Dimarco again came close, smashing a shot against the crossbar.
But it was Milan who drew first blood. In the 36th minute, a pinpoint cross from Jimenez found Jovic, who rose above the defense to head the ball home. A classic sucker punch from a side that had done little up to that point—but it was brutally effective.
Second half: Jovic again, Reijnders finishes it off
In the second half, Inter pushed forward looking for a lifeline. But Milan struck again quickly: just five minutes after the restart, a corner kick bounced around in the box, and Jovic pounced on the loose ball to double the lead.
The Nerazzurri tried to respond with a powerful header from De Vrij, but Maignan was once again up to the task. As Inter threw everything forward, gaps began to appear. In the 85th minute, Leao led a lethal counterattack and fed Reijnders, who coolly slotted home the third goal to put the result beyond doubt.
Jovic stars as Milan books a deserved final spot
Milan is through to the Coppa Italia final with a convincing performance that combined discipline, clinical finishing, and big-game mentality. Jovic, with two well-taken goals, was undoubtedly the star of the night. But contributions from Reijnders, Leao, and Maignan were just as crucial.
Inter, despite a promising start, couldn’t convert its dominance into goals and collapsed under pressure. The derby was red and black, and now Milan dreams of lifting the trophy.
