Targeted strike on Nasser complex in Khan Younis. Israel claims Hamas used it as command center. Journalist among the dead.
IDF strike targets Hamas command center at Nasser Hospital
An Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) airstrike struck the Nasser hospital complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, overnight. As reported by The Times of Israel, the military described the action as a “targeted attack” aimed at eliminating a Hamas command center allegedly operating from within the hospital.
According to the IDF, key Hamas operatives were using the hospital as a cover for military operations, thus justifying the strike under strategic and security needs.
Journalist Hassan Eslaiah among the casualties
Among the victims of the bombing, according to Palestinian media, was journalist Hassan Eslaiah, a well-known reporter in Gaza. His death adds to the growing toll of media professionals caught in the conflict.
Eslaiah was actively covering the war and its devastating impact on civilians. His loss is a stark reminder of the danger journalists face while trying to report from conflict zones.
Israel announces new aid system to bypass Hamas
In a separate development, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that humanitarian aid to Gaza would soon resume through a new controlled system. This was communicated during a closed meeting with the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Knesset.
The plan includes new distribution centers in southern Gaza and a monitored humanitarian zone. Recipients will not be allowed to move to other parts of the Strip, in a move aimed at limiting Hamas’s grip on resources and logistics.
