A nameless body: the story behind “Deserto”
“Deserto” portrays the stark contrast between a patient stripped of their identity and a cold, egotistical doctor who sees only bodies to be fixed, ignoring their emotions and life experiences. In a hospital turned into a dehumanizing machine, the protagonist finds the courage to fight back, reclaiming their humanity. The song is a journey from resignation to awareness, from annihilation to rebellion.
The voice of Heute Nebel
The band describes the song as a desperate scream, filled with bitter irony, embodying the struggle to cling to life in a world that tries to erase individuality. Behind every body lies a story, and “Deserto” fiercely reminds us that no human being should be treated as a mere object.
Who are Heute Nebel?
Heute Nebel were born to scream in people’s faces. Growing up amidst winter fogs and summer heatwaves, their music blends punk, hardcore, and stoner influences, channeling raw energy and defiance. The band formed in 2017, when Lorenzo Magnani and Luca Mazzoni joined forces, soon recruiting Guglielmo Campi on drums. In 2018, they released their debut EP “Servi”, a raw and powerful record. In 2019, Silvia Loiacono became the lead singer, followed by a lineup change with Alessandro Padovani taking over the drums, steering the band towards a new musical path. After a long creative process, their first LP was recorded post-pandemic, marking the departure of Mazzoni and the arrival of Giacomo Lunardi on guitar in 2023, further shaping the band’s evolving sound.

With “Deserto“, Heute Nebel deliver a powerful message: we are not numbers, we are not cogs in a machine, but human beings with stories to tell. Intense and visceral, the song will be available on digital platforms from March 4and on the radio from March 7.
