The illegal waste management network

Investigations conducted between 2019 and 2020 revealed a system for collecting, transporting, and managing special hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The illegally handled materials included ferrous scrap, lead batteries, mechanical components, metal packaging, and electronic devices.

These wastes were collected without proper authorization or documents like F.I.R. (waste identification forms), mixed untreated, and sold as non-hazardous ferrous waste, generating an illicit profit of over €300,000.

Results of the operation

The investigation led to the seizure of two companies, placed under judicial administration, as well as 16 trucks used for illegal transports. Additionally, €153,000 in assets were confiscated.
