Perugia – During the San Florido Fair, the Guardia di Finanza seized more than 10,000 counterfeit and unsafe products worth over €40,000.
Strict controls against counterfeit goods
At the event in Città di Castello, the Provincial Command of Perugia launched operations to fight fake products. Over 1,000 items, including scarves, hats, sports gadgets, and keychains, were seized, and two vendors were reported to authorities for criminal offenses.
Unsafe jewelry: 9,000 items confiscated
In addition to counterfeiting, the operation focused on product safety. More than 9,000 jewelry items were seized for lacking mandatory information, such as origin, materials, and importer details. Four companies were reported to the Chambers of Commerce in Viareggio, Rimini, and Perugia, facing fines of up to €25,823 each.
Tax compliance: fines and activity suspensions
Another key area of focus was the electronic storage and transmission of receipts. One vendor was fined for failing to electronically report over 80 fiscal receipts, involving unreported revenue exceeding €5,000. Penalties include fines and a business suspension of up to 30 days.
A commitment to economic legality
This initiative is part of the Guardia di Finanza’s broader efforts to combat illegal trade and ensure compliance with tax obligations, safeguarding consumers and promoting fair competition
