Albania votes for stability: the Prime Minister secures 79 seats and leaves the opposition behind

Exit polls confirm Rama’s fourth-term momentum

According to exit pollsEdi Rama and his Socialist Party have obtained 51.8% of the vote, which translates to 79 out of 140 parliamentary seats. A decisive victory that confirms public trust in Rama’s leadership and paves the way for another term.

Berisha’s opposition fails to gain ground

The centre-right opposition, led by Sali Berisha, falls short with just 54 seats, making it hard to challenge the ruling party. Albanian voters have clearly opted for continuity over change.

Minor parties find space

The remaining seven seats go to minor parties:

  • Seven are reportedly split among pro-government forces like the Social Democratic Party, aligned with Rama.
  • Two go to “Mundësia”, a new centre-right party led by Shehaj.
  • One seat each goes to former centre-right leader Lulzim Basha and a new political movement.

Toward a stable political future

With a comfortable majority, Rama can govern without unstable coalitions. This boosts his international role, especially in EU negotiations. Albania seems to have chosen stability as its political compass.
