Respiratory health in Italian art schools
DunfiatoforSchool, promoted by Federasma e Allergie ODV, and supported by organizations like AAIITO, AIPO, SIAAIC, SIAIP, SIMMG, SIMRI, and SIP, uses art to raise students’ awareness of respiratory health.
Asthma: a widespread and underestimated condition
Asthma affects more than 4.6 million people in Italy, yet only 20% of patients adhere to treatment. The main challenges include:
- poor treatment adherence,
- complex inhaler usage,
- fear of side effects,
- and social stigma.
For young people, these barriers often lead to social isolation, compounding the psychological burden of the condition.
DunfiatoforSchool spreads a positive message: proper management enables a normal life.
Art as a tool for awareness
The initiative engages third- and fourth-year art school students through:
- Workshops featuring testimonials from young asthma patients,
- Creation of artistic projects in multimedia, photography, sculpture, or figurative art.
The most outstanding works will be judged by a panel, and the winners will gain access to a unique experience at an international creative agency.
Young voices on dunfiato.it
Starting January 2025, all works will be showcased on dunfiato.it, where the public can vote for their favorites. Sponsored by Chiesi Italia, the project promotes prevention and responsible management of asthma, using art as a powerful communication tool.
As Mario Picozza, president of Federasma e Allergie ODV, explains:
“Art is a powerful bridge to understand and convey the impact of conditions like asthma.”
Chiesi Italia’s commitment
With 85 years of expertise in respiratory diseases, Chiesi Italia remains an industry leader. CEO Raffaello Innocenti states:
