Thorough investigations against fraud

The Guardia di Finanza in Pesaro and Urbino identified 37 individuals who were fraudulently receiving citizenship income, causing a total loss of over €200,000. The operation also prevented additional fraud of €46,000.

Fraudulent methods uncovered

The investigation revealed numerous irregularities, including:

  • Failure to disclose criminal convictions of beneficiaries or their relatives.
  • Omission of information about the detention status of some recipients.
  • Lack of the required continuous residence in Italy for the last 10 years.
  • False declarations about family members to increase benefits.
  • Non-disclosure of income from real estatechild support, or online gambling winnings.

Collaboration between institutions

The investigation was carried out in partnership with INPS, leveraging databases and targeted inspections. The goal was to protect resources allocated to poverty relief and ensure social equity.
