Marzo Rizzo, leader of Democrazia Sovrana e Popolare, strongly criticized the incident during an interview on Radio Cusano Campus. “No prior communication was made. Francesco Toscano discovered this by reading an online article. If this decision is confirmed, it marks the beginning of a dictatorship,” Rizzo stated.
Reportedly, the action is linked to a book published by Visione Tv’s publishing house, authored by the Russian president in 2021. The book discusses spirituality and culture, without any recent references. However, Rizzo believes the issue goes deeper: “If you express opinions against the system, whether on war, covid, or climate change, you risk facing economic and even physical threats.”
Rizzo further noted that this situation signals a dangerous trend toward authoritarianism: “You cannot deviate from the dominant narrative; otherwise, you’ll face threats, starting economically and escalating physically. It’s a multi-level pressure strategy.”
The closure of Visione Tv’s accounts highlights a broader concern about the shrinking space for dissenting opinions. It remains to be seen whether this is an isolated case or part of a larger phenomenon.
