On January 14, 2025, the new album by Asa’s Mezzanine, “Rest and fight”, will be available on all digital platforms and in physical format, released by Overdub Recordings. This instrumental work delves into the contrasts of existence, moving between moments of calm and sudden bursts of energy.
The album is a sonic representation of inner struggle, a delicate balance between noise and silence, between chaos and reflection. Distorted sounds blend with ethereal melodies, while electronic elements and progressive influences create a unique soundscape. Metallic riffs emerge from dark depths, intertwining with psychedelic atmospheres and evocative passages.
Accompanying the music is a short story written by the band, introducing the listener to a world of fragmented memories, inner landscapes, and dreamlike visions. The journey of “Rest and fight” is not just musical but also narrative and emotional, drawing listeners into an immersive experience.
The band describes the album as follows:
“Rest and fight is the realization that there are no wrong paths. They are quicksand that swallows you with grace, a dance of contrasts that gives birth to something new. The story accompanying the music introduces and completes the listening experience, in an intimate and timeless interpretation. An album that gently caresses you before hitting you like a hammer, making you feel a little different.”
An experimental sound blending art rock and progressive
Asa’s Mezzanine was formed in 2021, combining traditional instruments like drums, bass, and guitar with more experimental sounds, using piano and synths to enhance their atmospheric depth. Their music draws from stoner, metal, doom, electronic, and progressive influences, creating a sound rich in tension and emotion.
Following their debut EP “When she met herself” in 2022, which already showcased their strong connection between storytelling and music, the band recorded their new album at Monolith Recording Studio, further refining their distinctive sound.
