Aequilibria: Unimpresa’s bold project to support women and work-life balance in Italy

Childcare services and job orientation to break down barriers to female employment in Campania

Unimpresa and women’s work: a new challenge called Aequilibria

Unimpresa is reaffirming its social mission and commitment to female employment with the launch of Aequilibria, a new project approved by the Campania Region as part of the FSE+ 2021/2027 program. Following the success of “Welfare & Occupazione”, Unimpresa once again addresses the need for work-life balance with tangible services for women, particularly mothers, who struggle to enter or remain in the job market.

The official presentation will take place on Wednesday, May 28, but the initiative already promises a strong social and local impact.

Real services for real women: nurseries, babysitting, job guidance

Led by ICF – Istituto Centrale Formazione, a Unimpresa-affiliated body, Aequilibria combines childcare services(nurseries, micro-nurseries, babysitting, summer camps, play centers) with job orientation desks.

This dual approach seeks to eliminate structural obstacles that prevent many women from working or re-entering the workforce. It also offers support for those in need of upskilling and career reactivation, fostering a more inclusive job market and promoting gender equity.

Female employment: a matter of justice and economic growth

According to Unimpresa’s president Giovanna Ferrara, Italy’s low female employment rate is a structural weaknessthat impacts GDPbirth rates, and social cohesion. “Supporting women in their caregiving responsibilities and providing concrete job orientation tools means unlocking their economic and social potential,” she explains.

Unimpresa isn’t just acting as a business association, but as a driver of inclusive and sustainable growth, where balancing private life and professional opportunities is not a privilege, but a fundamental right.

A local pact between institutions, businesses and communities

Aequilibria is backed by a wide territorial partnership, with a key role played by the N27 district. This network strengthens local service systems and tailors responses to community needs. It represents a replicable model where cooperation among public entities, private businesses and the third sector builds a modern, person-centered welfare system.
